About Us

Americans for Health Excellence

Americans for Health Excellence is committed to practical healthcare reform that puts American patients first.

Too many Americans struggle to afford the medicines and treatments their doctors prescribe. At the same time, foreign governments benefit from American innovation without paying their fair share, which shifts costs onto U.S. patients, workers, and taxpayers. The situation is further muddled by the complexity of the healthcare system and the many actors within it. We believe America can lead the world in medical innovation and deliver affordable care to every patient. These goals aren’t in conflict—they’re connected. There is a better way to do healthcare while ensuring America remains the best place in the world to be a patient.

Americans for Health Excellence is dedicated to expanding patient access and affordability and improving the patient and doctor relationship while protecting America’s leadership in healthcare innovation. We bring together diverse voices from across the healthcare system and informed perspectives that don’t shy away from innovative ideas to advance reforms that lower out-of-pocket costs for patients, remove bureaucratic barriers between patients and their care, and hold actors in the system accountable—and that includes drug companies, insurers, PBMs, and hospitals.

Our Mission Statement

Americans for Health Excellence exists to lower healthcare costs for American patients, protect the innovation engine that delivers life-saving medicines and cures, and promote accountability across the healthcare system. We believe patients should be at the center of every healthcare decision—before bureaucrats, supply chain middlemen, or foreign governments. We advocate for policies that protect patient choice, reward U.S. leadership in medical discovery, and strengthen competition and transparency to deliver better outcomes for patients.

Our Vision

Americans for Health Excellence
A healthcare system where every American can afford the treatments they need, where doctors and patients — not distant bureaucrats—make healthcare decisions, and where the United States remains the undisputed global leader in medical innovation.

We envision a future where:
  • No American skips a prescription because they can’t afford it.
  • Drug prices are transparent, fair, and reflect real value for patients.
  • Employers and workers have meaningful choices in how they purchase and manage their healthcare.
  • Foreign governments pay their fair share for the medicines American innovation creates.
  • Every part of the healthcare system earns the trust of the patients it serves.
This isn't a partisan vision. It's a patient vision. And it's achievable through market-based reforms that are already delivering results.
